My name is Russell James, and I have lived in Sweden since 1984. During these years, I have founded Cambrian Language Service and built a successful and long career as a language consultant, teacher, and translator. My experience spans several decades and includes work in Sweden, the UK, and Germany. I hold a degree from University College of Wales (now Aberystwyth University), where I studied Swedish and German and earned a Bachelor of Arts with "joint honours".
As a an authorised translator between Swedish and English, I guarantee high-quality and professional translation services. I primarily work with translations from Swedish, German, French, Spanish, and Welsh into English. My expertise includes everything from marketing materials and technical manuals to annual reports and complex documents.
I completed my teaching qualification in London at International House, an internationally recognised language school known for training teachers of English as a second and foreign language to the highest standards.
I also speak Welsh as a second language and have worked on subtitling TV programmes from Welsh into Swedish. This experience has further broadened my linguistic competence.
Since 2003, I have also worked concurrently as a translator for the Swedish Parliament, handling complex translation tasks.
I have also had the privilege of teaching students specialising in translation from Swedish to English on the Master's programme at the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies (TÖJ) at Stockholm University. This has given me the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge with the next generation of translators.
In addition to my professional life, I have a great interest in culture in all its forms. I enjoy singing in choirs and travelling to discover new perspectives and ideas.

I am a qualified teacher of Swedish as a second language with a subject teaching degree from Stockholm University. My education includes 90 credits in Swedish as a second language and 90 credits in supplementary pedagogical education. Before changing careers, I worked as an economist and have experience in both economics and product development.
I have always been interested in languages and education, and when I started volunteering as a Swedish teacher for new arrivals in Stockholm, I realised that this was what I wanted to do. This experience inspired me to change my career path and focus entirely on language teaching. I have experience of working as a teacher of Swedish as a second language in Komvux and developed both theoretical and practical knowledge in pedagogy and didactics.
With my previous professional experience, I am used to delivering training and communicating in several languages, including Swedish, English and German. I am responsible, empathetic and positive as a person, and I am passionate about sharing knowledge.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking in nature and especially bird photography.
